Do you know?
39% of donors support a nonprofit by volunteering before they make a financial contribution.
I have a experience, where a person volunteered with Team Everest first, loved our initiatives, sponsored 2 students from his money and later referred a corporate who sponsored 50+ students.
Do you have any experience where a person volunteered first and then made a big contribution or referred a big donor?
I have yet to experience this phenomenon in my organization, as Volunteering still has not brought money directly.
However, some of the volunteers took an interest in some of the books I have authored and they did buy it from the store and gave me feedback about the book. Some also took an interest in the Yoga programs we teach.
But there is no direct money link.

You need to build a volunteer database, be in touch with all volunteers and engage them.
Also, in a year you can ask them 2 or 3 times for help.
i think it is a journey for volunteers- being engaged over a period of time gives them a sense of the value of work being done, impact on the beneficiaries, etc. volunteers also look at how well funded the org is and whether there is a NEED for them to fundraise or contribute. They tend to prefer to support direct beneficiary expenses…
