Setting up technology processes and tracking mechanisms - Karthee

Sharing an excerpt from Karthee’s session on Setting up technology processes and tracking mechanisms

In this video, Karthee addresses the following questions-

  1. How should non-tech-savvy founders go about using technology - where does one start? What has been your approach to setting up technology processes?
  2. How do you leverage low/no-code platforms for multiple aspects of your organisation?
  • Specific questions:
  1. Want to be aware of tools and applications that make volunteer tracking smoother
  2. Want to create an online platform for volunteers to create a social profile, that helps the volunteers to express their ideas and connect with opportunities
  3. Creating systems that will definitely help us manage our program better, we currently use excel formula based tools
  4. How do you build/make use of platforms to automate work and create tracking mechanisms for volunteers?
  • Specific questions:
  1. Tracking volunteer lifecycles and going beyond Google sheets, forms, and drive. Is there a one-stop shop for communication, knowledge management and tracking?
  2. As a matchmaking platform, we need to set up a technology tracking mechanism to scale and that is the biggest challenge for us
  3. Planning to introduce a WhatsApp bot and a login system for volunteers to keep a check on assigned cases
  4. How can I be more data-driven as an organisation and use analytics/insights generated by technology tools, as I scale?
  5. How do we use technology for blended models - where there is implementation happening in an online + in-person format?

What solutions are you guys using to track volunteering? From what I’ve heard, people are using either Zoho or PlatformCommons or custom solutions. eVidyaloka is building something using Sunbird. Today got a demo from Almashines- seems like a reasonably good platform too.

We are using Zoho and Airtable mostly.
