Insight: Breakout 1B: Panel Discussion - Driving greater buy-in for expanding employee volunteering in your organisation

Most of the employees opt for volunteering due to their manager pushing it. How do you create a culture where more and more people opt for volunteering themselves ?

For the first time, a corporate is bold enough to show its low volunteering numbers on screen. It will inspire other corporates also to do the same instead of showing fake or boosted numbers!

Easy to get buy-in from the leadership level. But at the managerial level, there is a challenge to get in buy-in from managers.

Understand the timelines of the departments so that we can align volunteering which does not interupt their work.

Allow Managers to pick when they want to volunteer instead of we telling them this is the opportunity and you take it!

Volunteering Wednesday’s a great concept to bring volunteers together where there is a specific day for the same.

Skill based volunteering is something people look at with little bit of fun elements.

Consistent and long term volunteering creates long lasting impact. The commitment by leadership at corporates is key to instill a culture of deep and meaningful community engagement / volunteering. Happy to see the work done by Omega and hoping to see this across more corporates.

Supporting Mental Well being of children is also very important.

The same set of volunteers going to the same community is a good thing. Definitely we can see lot of changes. Good to know about omega work. Kudos to the volunteers who travel more than 100 kilometers for Volunteering.

Thank you for sharing your insights.
