Do CSRs have an allocated budget to pay volunteers for skill-based or ad-hoc services provided by volunteers to NGOs?
Example: Let’s say an NGO wants to employ a part-time website designer who agrees to get the work done at subsidized prices, Can a CSR fund the payment of the website designer in this case?
P.S. I’m not referring to employee volunteering.
Looking for advice to understand how this works in detail!
From my experience, very rarely a corporate funds for such things.
Instead, you should pitch it differently. Say, you are building a website to educate girls on lifeskills. Then, you can put up a project proposal which says ‘Lifeskills for Girls’ in which ‘Website designer’ cost can be a part of it.
Now, the corporate will be interested because, the corporate is sponsoring ‘Lifeskill for Girls’ and not ‘Website designer cost’.
So, how we pitch matters a lot.
On the other hand, if the scenario is to create your own NGO website, either you need to identify an individual who loves your cause to fund it or use your admin costs from various program to build your website.
@Dollyaswani, CSR rules don’t allow funding of such expenses, so the only way to get such expenses supported are as part of larger projects.
