Shubham- basically, Seva Vacations involve identifying locations where people would like to travel to, finding NGOs, homestays, others that are willing to offer stay & food to a skilled volunteer who solves a problem for them. The problems vary based on the organisation identified. In holiday locations, homestays need help with interior design, social media marketing, collateral creation, photography, etc. Rural NGOs often need help with people who can work with them on vision/mission/strategy, creating a plan or budget, team building, project management, impact measurement, etc. and often such work involves helping train their local staff as well.
Amit, seva vacations are typically meant for urban professionals to visit rural areas.
Rohit, KPMG is just beginning this journey. However, @Aarti can share several examples of people who have moved to the social sector after spending time volunteering extensively.
Rahul- for seva vacations, one usually looks for a skilled volunteer who can be productive from day 1, so that the org doesn’t become a playground for them.
